Why We Built The ADV Exchange: A Manifesto for the Premium Rider

We’ve all been there.

You spend €1,200 on a top-tier Gore-Tex suit. You wear it for one season, but you realize the fit isn't quite right, or maybe you’re eyeing that new Mosko Moto setup. You decide to sell it.

Then, the "Marketplace Tax" kicks in.

You post it on Facebook, and within ten minutes, you're wading through a swamp of "Is this still available?" bots and lowballers offering you €200 and a used power tool. Or worse, you list it on a major auction site, lose a massive chunk of the sale to fees, and then spend two weeks biting your nails, hoping the buyer doesn't claim "item not received" just to scam you.

Adventure riding is about freedom, not life-admin and anxiety.

I built The ADV Exchange because I was tired of seeing premium gear—and the riders who buy it—treated like a bargain-bin afterthought. Our community deserves a dedicated, high-trust ecosystem that understands the value of a Klim jacket or a pair of Tech 7s.

The "White Glove" Difference

We aren't just a classifieds site. We are a managed exchange. When we started designing this platform, we had three non-negotiables:

  1. Stripe Escrow Protection: No more wiring money to strangers or "gifting" via PayPal and praying. When you buy on The Exchange, your funds are held securely by Stripe. They aren't released to the seller until the gear is in your hands.

  2. No-Hassle Logistics: We hate the post office as much as you do. When an item sells, we don't ask the seller to weigh it or buy a label. We buy the DHL label for you. We email it to your inbox, you print it, and you’re done.

  3. The 0% Relist Guarantee: Sizing is the biggest hurdle to buying gear online. If you buy something here and it doesn't fit, we’ll help you swap it back into the community. Let us know within 7 days, and we’ll waive our commission on your relisting.

Why the €150 Minimum?

You’ll notice we don't list 10-year-old sweaty leathers or budget entry-level gear. By enforcing a €150 minimum listing price, we ensure that the Exchange remains a curated space for the gear that actually matters—the stuff that protects your life on the trail.

Join the Founders Period

We are officially in our "Soft Launch" phase. To get the engines humming, we are waiving all commission for the first 30 days. If you’ve got premium gear sitting in your closet, now is the time to list it.

Let's keep the good gear inside the community, and let's keep it on the trail where it belongs.
