What began as a passion project has evolved into something more. We’re proud of what we’ve built and even more excited for what’s ahead.
Gear Condition Guidelines
To keep the Exchange premium and trustworthy, sellers must honestly grade their gear using one of the four categories below. If a buyer receives an item that is significantly worse than described, the Escrow will be refunded and the seller will pay the return shipping.
1. Brand New (Tags Attached)
The Vibe: You bought it, missed the return window, and it has never seen a motorcycle.
The Standard: Original tags are still attached. Absolutely zero wear, smells, or marks. Original packaging (if applicable) is included.
2. Like New (The "Wrong Size" Category)
The Vibe: You wore it on one or two rides, realized it was pinching your shoulders, and put it back in the closet.
The Standard: No tags, but indistinguishable from new. No bug splatters, no mud stains, no scuffs. Armor is perfectly intact.
3. Great (Trail-Tested)
The Vibe: This is standard, high-quality used gear. It’s broken in and comfortable.
The Standard: 100% structurally sound. All zippers, Velcro, and snaps work perfectly. Waterproof membranes (Gore-Tex) do not leak. There might be minor cosmetic wear (a light mud stain that won't wash out, or a tiny scuff on a plastic slider), but no damage.
4. Good (Well-Loved)
The Vibe: This gear has seen a few seasons and a few continents, but it still has plenty of life left for a rider on a budget.
The Standard: Visibly used. May have sun fading, surface-level scuffs, or minor fraying. However, all armor must be present, seams must be tight, and main zippers must function. (Note: You must clearly photograph any specific flaws).
The "Do Not List" Policy (Banned Items)
Safety is our number one priority. We are a premium marketplace, not a dumpster. If you list any of the following, your ad will be deleted and your account may be banned.
Crashed Gear: If the jacket, pants, or helmet has hit the tarmac or shows signs of road rash/melted textiles, do not list it.
Helmets: Helmet EPS foam degrades over time. We do not allow the sale of any helmets on the exchange at this time. (This policy may change in the future if we get enough requests to add them).
Compromised Waterproofing: If your Gore-Tex or proprietary waterproof membrane is delaminating or actively leaks in the rain, it cannot be sold here.
Missing Armor: Unless explicitly stated in the first line of your title (e.g., "Klim Carlsbad - NO BACK PROTECTOR"), all gear originally sold with armor must include that armor.
Broken Hardware: Busted main zippers, ripped seams, or torn mesh. If it can't survive a slide, don't sell it to a fellow rider.
The Cleanliness Standard (Wash Before You Sell)
We know you just got back from an epic three-week ride across the TET, but the next rider doesn't want to smell it.
All gear must be reasonably cleaned before shipping.
Textiles (Kore-Tex, Mesh, etc.): Run it through the wash following the manufacturer's instructions (we highly recommend using Nikwax Tech Wash to preserve the waterproofing).
Helmets: Remove the interior liners and wash them. Wipe down the shell and the visor.
Note: If a buyer receives gear that is excessively dirty, smells strongly of smoke, or is unwearable without professional cleaning, we reserve the right to approve a return and refund the buyer from Escrow.
The "No Surprises" Photo & Description Rule
A premium marketplace requires premium honesty. Your photos and description represent your reputation as a seller.
Highlight the Flaws: If there is a scuff on the elbow, take a close-up photo of it. Don't try to hide it. Buyers of used adventure gear understand it won't be flawless, but they hate surprises.
Show the Tags: Always include a clear photo of the internal sizing tag and (if applicable) the Gore-Tex/Brand authenticity tags.
List the Armor: Explicitly state exactly what armor is included (e.g., "Includes D3O Level 2 back, shoulder, and elbow pads").
Top Tip for Sellers: The more open you are with the buyers, the quicker your gear will sell. Take a few extra detailed pics as it sends a message of total transparency and trust.
The 3-Day Dispatch Expectation
When a rider buys your gear, they are usually trying to get it in time for their next trip.
Once your item sells and the Escrow is secured, you will receive your DHL shipping label.
We expect all sellers to pack their gear securely in the provided mailer and drop it off at a DHL location (or schedule a pickup) within 3 business days.
If you are away on a trip and cannot ship immediately, you must communicate this to the buyer via the platform chat before they purchase, or immediately after. Unshipped orders will be canceled and refunded after 7 days of zero communication.
Keep Transactions on The Exchange
We built this platform to protect riders from scams.
Asking buyers to pay you off-platform via "PayPal Friends & Family," bank transfer, or cash in the mail instantly voids all buyer and seller protections.
Any user found attempting to bypass the Stripe Escrow system to avoid platform fees will have their account permanently banned.
If a buyer messages you asking to pay off-platform, please report them. It is almost always a scammer attempting to steal your gear.
