Is Your Gear "Exchange Ready"? (Our Quality Standards)

If you’ve ever scrolled through the "Motorcycle Gear" section of a generic marketplace, you know the drill. You have to wade through 40 pages of crusty 20-year-old leathers, scratched-up "budget" jackets, and questionable "waterproof" gear that looks like it’s been lived in by a family of badgers.

At The ADV Exchange, we value your time too much for that.

We aren't trying to be the biggest marketplace on the planet—we’re trying to be the best. That means we curate what gets listed. We have a high bar, and we make no apologies for it.

The Rule of €150

You’ll notice that we don't list entry-level gear or basic accessories. To keep the Exchange premium and to ensure our 18% + €20 fee makes sense for the "White Glove" logistics we provide, we have a minimum listing price of €150.

This isn't about being elitist; it’s about protection. If you’re buying a piece of gear on the Exchange, you know it’s a significant piece of kit. It’s a Klim jacket, a pair of Sidi boots, or a Rukka suit. By keeping the "junk" out, we ensure that every listing on the site is worth your attention.

The "Technical Gear" Standard

Adventure riding gear is more than just clothing; it’s technical equipment. If we wouldn't trust a piece of gear on a solo trip through the Atlas Mountains, it doesn't get listed here.

  • The Gore-Tex Guarantee: If a jacket or pant is listed as "waterproof," the membrane must be intact. We don't allow gear with delaminated liners or "leaky" seams.

  • The Armor Rule: All technical apparel should include its original armor (D3O, Seeflex, etc.) unless explicitly stated otherwise. We believe gear should be "ready to ride" the moment it hits your door.

  • Zips & Hardware: No "sticky" main zippers or broken snaps. In the middle of a trail, a broken zipper is a disaster. On the Exchange, it’s a dealbreaker.

Signal Over Noise

When you shop at The ADV Exchange, you aren’t "scrounging." You’re browsing a vetted selection of the best ADV gear on the market.

For sellers, this means your premium gear sits next to other premium gear, maintaining its value. For buyers, it means you can search for a jacket in 30 seconds instead of 30 minutes.

Got something that fits the bill? Check our full condition guidelines and get it listed.
